We are starting this movement, this awareness, and this change, from Airdrie which is located a few minutes north of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With enough reach and voices, this can become a household name and statistic, expanding through our province, country, and beyond.
While most of the website currently focuses on females in Intimate Partner Violence relationships, there are many men who also suffer from this. We'll be bringing additional resources and information as the website grows.
NO ONE SHOULD BE SUJBECT TO INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE
There is ample evidence, documentation, studies, and articles, and very few who understand, believe or choose to accept the reality of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).
There are many safe people, especially men, in positions of power who can be a voice. Let's promote our values openly, and be a safe person in the lives of the women and sexual minorities around us.
Change doesn't happen with an news article, a poster, or a statistic, it starts there. Change comes from being a voice, an advocate, creating psychological safety, and creating awareness.
It all starts with listening to the people around us, and sharing and spreading this information. This isn't one person, or a corporation, this needs everyone.
We all have the capacity to add this information to our daily lives - a presentation, a social media post, a podcast. Learn the facts and spread your knowledge.
To be recognized as a safe person, you need to create a safe environment. Whether this is at home, the classroom, the boardroom, or a group or sports team, let everyone know you are a safe person.
